App Description
Assistance in choosing the medical imaging examination for healthcare professionals.
ADERIM is a decision support tool for ordering medical imaging examinations, designed for physicians and healthcare professionals (general practitioners, radiology residents, emergency physicians). The application guides the prescriber toward the most appropriate imaging examination for the patient's condition or symptoms, using imaging recommendations based on expert consensus.
HOW THE APPLICATION WORKS
ADERIM allows users to search, by clinical symptom or pathology, for the medical imaging examination recommended for the patient's clinical situation, according to a classification established with the French College of General Medicine (CMG). For each imaging examination request, the application indicates the clinical and biological data to be provided to the radiologist to justify the procedure.
MEDICAL CONTENT AND APP CHAPTERS
The imaging recommendations in the app were written by experts from the French Society of Radiology (SFR) and then reviewed by review groups from the SFR, the CMG (French Medical Group), and, for nuclear medicine examinations, the French Society of Nuclear Medicine (SFMN). Since 2023, the app has included a chapter dedicated to imaging examinations in emergency situations, developed by the SFR Emergency Committee and the French Society of Emergency Medicine (SFMU), as well as a chapter on imaging examinations in psychiatry. The app's content is regularly reviewed by experts and incorporates updates to national and international multidisciplinary recommendations in medical imaging.
THE RELEVANCE OF IMAGING EXAMS IN THE APPLICATION
The approach to appropriate imaging exams, supported by the ADERIM application, aims to focus radiological care on patients who need it, limiting the potential exposure of patients to unnecessary imaging exams. Faced with a natural increase in demand for medical imaging exams, linked in particular to aging populations, chronic diseases, improvements in oncology care, and the early evaluation of innovative therapies, the ADERIM application is part of an organized care pathway, relying on the consultation of guidelines to support the decision-making process for requesting imaging exams.
The imaging recommendations offered in the ADERIM application cannot claim to be universally prescriptive: they reflect the scientific recommendations of the learned society.
This tool was developed with the support of the ARS Ile-de-France (Regional Health Agency of Île-de-France).
